Our delegation was welcomed by D.r Peter Skiczuk, Head of Program and Project Management of the defence division, who outlined the essential history, activities and development of the parent company and the current business environment in which the company is now operating. This introduction was followed by a presentation of the defence division of the company given by DI Anton Martha, Vice President, Business Development, of the parent company.

The parent company, Frequentis AG, is a privately owned company founded in 1947 offering solutions in the fields of communication, information systems and control centres.  It is divided into business units focusing on the sectors of air traffic management, defence, public safety, public transport, and maritime operations. Approximately 1,200 people, mainly qualified engineers, are employed by the company including staff in more than 50 countries, and in 2013 the order intake amounted to 204 million Euro. Around 90% of the company's business is international, with the company having provided solutions to more than 110 countries.

In the defence sector Frequentis has provided systems to armed forces throughout Europe, and in countries as far afield as Australia, Brazil, Canada, Malaysia, and the USA.  Many of these contracts are in whole, or as a part of, comprehensive air/ground operations coordination and control systems.

After the presentations, the CdH delegation was given a guided tour of the company's production facility where the equipment for the production of integrated circuit boards and the assembly of systems hardware could be seen.
